As you visit Tamarack minerals, you will be able to purchase fine minerals, in all sizes and price ranges. We accept purchases by phone or email ONLY. When a mineral is sold or reserved, we will post it as such, as soon as possible. Items are sold on a first-come basis. Cases remain intact and unaltered until replaced on a future update. If you are interested in a specimen that is already reserved or sold, let us know; there is a good chance that we may have something along the same lines that may suit your needs. We only carry minerals that we like and often are fortunate enough to pick up multiples from the same locality. You may contact us by email, swhelan@tamarackminerals.com.
About Us
Tamarack mineral Company is an online internet mineral business formed in 1998 by Sandi & Steve Whelan of Calumet Michigan.Although we had already been selling minerals from our home and at small, regional mineral shows for over 20 years prior to 1998, we decided that the internet could provide the means to expand and build our small home business into a viable retirement business that could provide us with additional income. We posted our first specimens for sale on the site in the spring of 1999, and our first sale came in June 1999, and we were thrilled. In the beginning we stuck to posting specimens from Michigan's Copper Country, then started adding Lake Superior Agates, and finally began adding mineral specimens from around the world by request from our customers. In over 20+ years online, we have posted just over 5,600 specimens to the website, and have sold 4,730 of those specimens(about 84%).Most importantly, our goal from the very beginning was to provide collectors with fine minerals at reasonable prices. We believe we have succeeded in this, and in the process have developed very close friendships with many of our customers.
If you would like to be notified by email when new specimens are posted just let us know and we'll add your email to our email list: swhelan@tamarackminerals.com. Please note: dimensions are in centimeters. Stated size for pairs of Datolite is measurement of the largest of the two halves.
