Case 8

Copper Agate

Wolverine #2 Mine, Houghton County, Michigan Great copper banding and a partial eye in this beauty. 1.8 x 1.3 x .7cm SOLD TM75-648

Datolite

Ojibway Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan Here is another top-shelf Datolite! Best I have seen or handled from the Ojibway. The dark veining and dark border contain lots of native copper. Great provenance: Paul LaBonte's original Datolite collection, to Ben Vone's Copper Country Collection. Acquired from Ben 4 years ago in a trade and has been in our display cabinet since. In perfect condition, front and back. 8.5 x 7.8 x 4.2cm SOLD TM21-1310

Copper Crystals

Victoria Mine, Ontonagon County, Michigan You will not find many (if any) specimens from the Victoria Mine, let alone copper crystals. This branch of copper crystals has a deep reddish cuprite patina. I found this specimen in 1985 while metal detecting around and in the old foundations at this mine site: so you can be absolutely sure of its locality. 22.5 x 2.8 x .9cm SOLD TM19-979

Datolite

Flintsteel Mine, Ontonagon County, Michigan Great color in this pair, set off by the white borders. In perfect condition front and back. 3.2 x 2.8 x 1.0cm $50/pair TM21-1311

Copper Crystals

Seneca Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan Extremely well crystallized both front and back. Small cabinet specimen. Label says with Barite. Ex. Ben Vone collection. 5.7 x 4.6 x 2.2cm $225 TM19-980

Datolite

Mass Mine, Ontonagon County, Michigan Very unusual color in this pair for this locality. Ex. Don Kelman collection via John Perona in August 2001. 4.8 x 3.8 x 1.3cm SOLD TM21-1312
