Copper in Calcite

Phoenix Mine Keweenaw County Michigan This is a little "jewel". Multiple calcites make up this thumbnail, and they are filled with bright native copper. It also has lots of native copper that has tarnished with age, protruding from the calcites. From the Fred Smith collection #231 on the specimen; Ex.
