Lake Superior Agates
Michipicoten Island, Lake Superior
This pair of face-polished agates comes from an island in the northeast corner of Lake Superior. Long known for its agates, it was not easily accessible to the collector and, finally, was closed to all collecting when the Ontario government made it into a Provincial Park in 1985. We were very fortunate to acquire a small group of Michipicoten agates a few years ago.
