  Quartz crystals

Montreal mine
Iron County
Wisconsin

Large cabinet specimen of quartz crystals with many of them colored red  by included hematite. Specimens of quartz are not common from the Montreal, and this one is a beauty. The quartz crystals are lying in a horizontal layer over most of the specimen, except for the vugs where they have formed vertically. Tiny groups of barite crystals are scattered on both sides of the specimen with occasional hematite crystals making an appearance, also.
